No, Per, the actual reason is that Chico refused to have a look into the associated datasheets! If he had done so before posting, he would have realized, that he cannot drive the ULN2803 without at least a pull-up. How many times have we mentioned here, that the standard 8051 outputs cannot source relevant currents but only sink? When I tried to explain what is wrong with his design, he again refused to have a look into the datasheet of ULN2803. If he had done so, he would have understood what I meant with the two base emitter junctions and the 27kOhm resistor. Half a dozen of professionals have wasted their time, only because someone didn't want to do his job... Kai |
