#165219 - Neutral name of supplier Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Motorola didn't leave microcontrollers. They just moved the processors to a separate company.
Sometimes, it is advantageous to sell the processors using a neutral name, since the main company may be a competitor to the customer in some product areas. It is easier to sell a Freescale processor for use in an Ericsson or Nokia mobile phone than it is to sell a Motorola processor. A company specialized in just selling chips, and not complete products, is more neutral as supplier. |
