Example: I wanted to modify the behavior of my alarm system (8035 based). While mucking about in the code I also discovered a serious error in its logic and fixed it. Since I had neither source code nor schematic, disassembling and modifying the code took far less time than "starting from scratch". Doing so was completely legal under fair use laws. Not everyone has the same experiences as you Erik, nor do they have the same outlook. To think otherwise is called "parochial". |
