The width of a card slot in a standard (Eurocard/VME) backplane is 5.08 mm. You have to make sure that your board doesn't have components that are too tall on top or bottom such that they interfere with another board in an adjacent slot.

Three-level wrap sockets have pins that are too long and stick out the back of the board.
