#145368 - Old enough to remember delivering Machine Wrap Responding to: ???'s previous message |
.. boards. The old Augut boards came delivered with pin sockets already in place. You developed a net-list and downloaded it to the wrap machine. These things were commonly used in Telecom, not for "1 of's" but for production.
Perhaps anyone old enough to remember "PDP's" remembers also there wirewrapped backplane. Have done miles of hand wire-wrap especially in the old 8085/Z80/8048 days. Some may remember the famed "Modified Wrap" which Gardner-Denver used to present as the "next big thing" in wrap pencils. One disapointment was the "Slit and Wrap" which i never found reliable but promised much for "bussed" configurations. I mainly use "point to point" construction techniques when i am not using a PCB today. regards, p |
