#144659 - Consonant hog Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Jan,
We use "hog" as a metaphor for greed, or hoarding. The remark was an allusion to an old post in which I claimed that the poor Hawaiians couldn't find two consanants between them (the Hawaiian language is replete with vowels, and uses very few consonants) because people like Craig were hoarding them (there are three consonants in his name, and only two vowels). Hey! I just realized. You're a consonant hog too, Jan. ;) Joe |
