You can always tell when a software set has portions in JAVA, as it's normally much too slow. That's probably because of stupid programming, of course, but we're all occasionally guilty of that.

Once CPU's are about 10^50 times faster you can plan on being able to use JAVA for useful work.

In the meantime, it's OK for viruses and other web stuff.
