1. I like the idea of configurable microcontroller because this way you build whatever you need like if you use just 1 timer why bother building timers 2 and 3. This way you save space on FPGA to do other work. Same goes for size of ROM, RAM, etc.
2. Can the custommer use readily availbale C compilers like keil to program the CORE ROM as it was external 8052?
3. If you generate a bitstream, can the user interface to it?Wouldn't it be better to generate vhdl/verilog code so that user interface to it easily using port mapping?
I think your idea is great and out of the future. Good Luck.
