Hi Andy and Shanker,

Yeah, this is way off-topic. Of course, it could be worse. He could have asked about the origins of the philosophical conflict between Judaeo-Christian theology and Eastern mysticism as manifest in traditional Hinduism. So maybe he's just a little bit off-topic.

In Windows you control port operations through DCBs (Data Control Blocks). And if you want to know anything more about it, look it up. My head hurts just from thinking about that little bit.
