#107150 - Strange happenings Responding to: ???'s previous message |
In England we still measure distances in miles, speeds in mph and areas of land in acres, but we buy our fuel in litres and recently it was declared illegal to weigh food in lbs and ozs - madness I know. We still do PCB layouts in inches though and most butchers are happy if you ask for a pound of suasages (they just know how many grams that is).
England used to be known as the sick man of Europe when we had nothing but strikes during the last Labour government. Now we should be known as the awkward man of Europe because we won't tow the metric line - long live inperial units I say. Ian |
