#104927 - EISA Bus interfacing
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Hi Suresh,

Actually, the software complexity depends on several factors:

Level of software complexity is ordered from most to least:

1.) Do I need to use Direct Memory Addressing (DMA)?
2.) Do I need the PC's interrupt request line (IRQ)?
3.) I assume by stating EISA you need 16-bit data path?
4.) How is my I/O card 'mapped' in the I/O memory space?

Try a google search on someone's 'pet project', this may prove useful to you (:

I designed and built my own ISA cards around ten years ago - and talked to them with Borland C (lots of fun!), but I cannot remember circuit details, sorry :(

Cheers,
Valentin
