#186720 - Some bricks can inform about rating
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Some supplies have a method of informing the laptop their power rating.

So your laptop knows that it needs to charge your batteries at a slower speed if you tried to reuse an older brick.
Or you use the brick shipped with the laptop but have the laptop used with a dock and extra disks - but not using the bigger brick shipped with the docking station.

But that is custom bricks for special-brand laptops.

The generic bricks don't have that intelligence.
