David, Erik obviously strives for quite a couple of days to make this thing working with SDCC. What does make you to doubt? The number of questions and the attempted way to solve them?

You are seasoned in the UNIX-legacy software/tools, so have quite an easy time when it comes to make and grep; but believe me that's a whole different world from uVision and Windows Explorer. Completely different, and the gap is incredibly wide. What's interesting is, that most of those who are on the other side, don't believe this.
