I use a very much standard 2x16 character LCD. I mean a LCD with classic HD44780 still can work well with board A.

What I am going to do is to get a circuit board with LCD (called board B). Then hook board B to the LCD port of board A to read and re-display that data (8+3) on the LCD of board B.

If it's successful then I will move to the 2nd step of transmit those 2 byte to remote board C.
