A DPM where from one side a uC stuff and from the other side a uC or a FPGA or whatever operate the monitor.

You get the best of both worlds a programmable 'stuffer' and a timing perfect video driver.

If the 'stuffer' should lag one frome on some of the pixels (it need only 'stuff' what is changed) I doubt anyone would notice.
