Even when the driver is not accessed at the other end with an application software, chip hangs. This happens randomly, but with more frequency when the data changes. Actually, for the data to change, something else must change inside the UPS. Like load change, power fail, bypass on etc. So it could be that, the noise is getting coupled. As I mentioned, when we test the interface with 2 PCs, then everything works fine (I have a testing software that can do extensive testing).
