This actually has some advantages as I see it over the zener diode / SCR circuit shown here by someone else which has way less gain and will end up having a soft knee turn on. Yes, the TL431 is used as a very "sharp" zener here. Nevertheless, you end up with a destroyed fuse, which is no good idea in an industrial application... Kai Klaas |
