#182947 - CAD software has lots of primitives Responding to: ???'s previous message |
CAD software is not (or at least isn't supposted to be) designed for hard-coded details.
The world have millions and millions of different components. Some components part of a standard library supplied with the CAD tool. But lots of components requires the user to create their own component symbols. But this scales down from full components into the primitives that forms the components. So you normally have a number of tools availble to design component pads too. Not all pads are a round circle with a hole in the center, or a rectangle with rounded corners. Somewhere along the way, it's also up to the individual user to sit down and learn what tools that are available, and then make good use of these tools. No manufacturer can supply an infinite set of pads, component outlines, schematic symbols, screen prints, full components, ... out of the box. |
