#182880 - Constructing a component.. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
In the CAD software tool you will need to create your "jumper pad" as a component. Define it as a two terminal component. Do likewise within your schematic package and then include the necessary instances of JP1, JP2 ... etc etc. This will allow the components to be net listed out of the schematic and imported into the CAD layout package in a manner as all the other components.
Designing the special pad can take some work to get it all correct. You have to remember to specify that this "component" will only have a pad on one side of the board. When you create the pad stack also remember to leave an opening in the solder mask so it is possible to solder on the site. Each CAD package has its own little quirks and special procedures to get free formed copper items included into the pad definition. Michael Karas |
