The 'B' indicates the size of the shell as used in the orignal 25-way standard connector for RS232; also for the parallel printer port on PCs. The correct letter for the shell size used for the 9-pin connector is 'E' - so the correct name is "DE9" The same shell size is used by the high-density 15-pin VGA connector - so that can be called a "DE15" |
