#178127 - Part programmer reputation
I was looking for a programmer online and found this "Willem EPROM/EEPROM Programmer PIC BIOS Chip PCB5.0E":

At this site:
http://www.virtualvillage.com/advanced-willem-eprom-programmer-pic-bios-chip-eeprom-006401-033.html?utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=shcomp

Is this a good device for a beginner to use? Does this device work well for W27E512s, 28C16s, and IIC EEPROMs?
Are there better, less expensive, part programmers out there?

Another question: is it true that connecting the data terminals together in a USB cable tell the PC to output as much current as possible on that port?

Mr. Neil: I remembered what you said in your post,
http://www.8052.com/forumchat/read/177876
Should I drop the idea of buying the programmer and buy an 8052.com SBC bare board and an 8052-BASIC MCU to go with it? I found one online.
If so, I can use the 52-basic to program the memory chips.
I have all the parts needed for the 8052.com SBC, except the software, the 8052-BASIC MCU, and the board (of course).

The BASIC is in an auction which ends Aug 22, 2010 2:30 pm CDT. Please reply before then.

Thank you so very much,

Nathan A. Spinuzzi
