#178154 - Deep linking
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Nothing wrong with the markup.

The issue here is that CyberGifs do not support hosting smileys. You can download a smiley from their site and to your site and use. You can not have a page on your site that links to a smiley on their site. When they get a request for the smiley, that doesn't specify their own site as originator, they instead serve the ad.

You see the smiley because your web browser have already cached the smiley.

Everyone else - or you, when clearing the cache or switching to another browser - will have to make a burried retrieval and will get the ad instead of the smiley.

It is quite common for sites to not accept deep links, letting their machine stand for the bandwidth for hosting images or text for presentation on other sites.
