#177320 - always possible to machine solder at near 100% yield Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Not sure if he was talking about a manufacturer.
All chips should be possible to solder with 99.9... percent yield when machine-soldered in a calibrated process. But some chips can be very hard or almost impossible to hand-solder. Anything that has pads or balls under the chip quickly makes it hard to hand-solder. In some situations hot air can be used, but that is not always enough. Maybe he was talking about a company that did hand-soldering of prototypes or manual replacements of chips? |
