#176365 - Unreasonable expectations Responding to: ???'s previous message |
"Gimme code" requests are usually from inexperienced and/or naive requestors who think it will be a substitute for any effort or understanding at all on their part.
If you realise that it will still require that you understand the principles involved, and will require effort to understand the code, and effort to adapt to your own particular requirements - then it can be a useful resources. It is, unfortunately, true that a great deal of the so-called "free"[1] software available on the net is, to be frank, rubbish - you would, indeed, be better off without it. Sadly, this even applies to some of the "sample" code supplied by some well-know chipmakers who really should know better! See: http://www.8052.com/forumchat/read/174319 [1] Someone (Jack Ganssle?) noted that such software is only really free if you do not value your own time! |
