Hello Erik,

Thanks for your answer. So I2C is feasible...

Just to be sure (and for ESD and hot swap purposes) I'm planning on using an I2C buffer like the LTC4307 or something simular on each bus entry.
The Int line is a nice idea and certainly something to consider.
