#173182 - Answers to questions
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Thanks for the answers. I will try to give you the answers to your questions :

Andy :

I don't want to use a Uart because then it would have be a software Uart. The hardware Uart is busy doing midi.
The controller is very busy already and I don't want to stress it even more by using a software UART.
So Can or something other UART based is not my first choice.

The traffic on the bus is about 3 bytes every 50ms including I2C adress.

The length is at most 1 meter in between modules which are built in seperate housings.

I'm already using I2C in the main module. The other modules would have uC based I2C slaves.

I will have a look into the SMBus.

One question : What do you mean by Daisy chained?

I hope I gave the information you requested.

Michael :

I was thinking about using a very simple checksum to detect data corruption
