Doesn't it also specify timeouts for recovery from various possible "lock-up" scenarios...?
SMB is, basically, IIC with the added feature of timeout. Regardless of IIC, SMB or SPI, all the timings, risetimes, pulsewidths, becomes, to some extent, 'programmable' when the communication is uC to uC. I would, as a general comment, say that, for such a purpose, the selection should be the use of uCs with hardware interface, be it IIC, SMB or SPI. Erik |
