the only thing I KNOW about SMB as opposed to IIC is the timeout. There are other differences; but I have never used SMB, IIC only, but have been caught by the timeout once with configuration for SMB, not IIC. The real bitch about SMB in multiprocessor systems is that if you set a breakpoint in one the other(s) burp. For IIC (the hardware version) nothing happens to the others unless they are (badly) programmed to sit there and wait till an IIC transfer is completed. Erik |
