Yes the titled features above are the two most significant differences between I2C and SMBus. There are some other differences as well including some spec differences on the voltage levels of the interface but those are usually more toward the minor considerations on what to deploy.

Note: Some MCUs like the SiLabs parts are built as SMBus parts.
