OK - so we can take your word on the timeouts, and Michael's word on the hold-time, and conclude that they are the two major differences?

The real bitch about SMB in multiprocessor systems is that if you set a breakpoint in one the other(s) burp.

I think that's a general problem with breakpointing one processor in any multiprocessor system - unless the system has been specifically designed to cope with it?

Some modern processors do have "clever" debug options to help get around this kind of thing...
