#171633 - triac + diac => quadrac
Responding to: ???'s previous message
And if you take a triac (bi-polar thyristor) and merge with a diac (bi-polar diode), you get a quadrac.

The world is full of interesting components to play with. Diac + triac was among the first components I used after normal transistors, diodes and LEDs.
