#171632 - Im surprised.... DIAC
Responding to: ???'s previous message
No one mentioned that this is the circuit equivalent of a DIAC. http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_3/chp...t_7/4.html This type of electronics was mainly used back in the 60s. Rarely does anyone see this type of terminology anymore. Kind of a neat little sub-circuit. They are of the thyristor... SCR family. Only old-timers know that linguo I didnt come across that terminology until I met a guy who was in his 70s talking about vacuum tubes. There are also TRIACS. Those guys are really neat. Oh forgot to mention, DIACs do EXIST and are diodes for AC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIAC .
