#170537 - Triscend E5 successor(s)
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Indeed - the original PSoC was around at the same time as the Triscend, but only with its proprietary CPU. The beauty of the Triscend then (and the new PSoCs now) was the use of the two "industry standard", cross-vendor architectures - 8051 and ARM.

Triscend was strictly digital, whereas PSoC has a lot of analogue stuff.

I'm not sure that the PSoC's programmable logic is (quite) in the same league, but I'm keen to see the new PSoCs now that they have some "proper" processors...

Having killed Triscend, Xilinx are still only now beginning to get into ARMs...

Actel have had an app note for some time for migrating Triscend designs onto their FPGAs with their 8051 core...
