#164998 - In order to have high speed, you must have low mass Responding to: ???'s previous message |
What do you mean by points per second?
You believe you can sweep your laser across the diagonal of a 3 x 4 meter surface with resolution, of, say, 2 mm, in 50 microseconds, stop, and turn around and do it again? Do you think that's fast enough to illuminate ANY point on that area sufficiently to make it seem static in a darkened room? I'm concerned about the mechanical limitations. The loudspeaker voice coil is allowed to "float" in the gap in the speaker magnet, supported by the surround (the elastic gasket around the cone), which makes it difficult to control its absolute position within that gap. OTOH, the HDD voice-coil mechanism is very precisely fixed. The motion of the neither "voice-coil" mechanism is linear with respect to current or voltage. Fortunately, they are predictable. RE |
