#153156 - opinions Responding to: ???'s previous message |
yes, we have a different opinion on what 'PC' means, and that is just life.
The one MAJOR hurdle I see with a (lets call it) "loaded program '51 based computer" is that once you have whatever form of an OS you decide to make you will have to start developing a bunch of applications. I doubt very much that there ever will be an "applications development community" for a "loaded program '51 based computer". In the olden days, when PCs actually cost money, I could see a limited interest in this, but today when no college will see you without a laptop under your arm and a cellphone is more of a 'PC' than a "loaded program '51 based computer" ever will be. the interest will be basically nothing. YES, it could be intersting as a "hobby project" but it would take an inordinate amount of "hobby time" just to get it out of the gate. Erik |
