The first couple of ARM's were ARM7TDMI, but what we ended up liking best was the ARM9 version with its multiple ETHERNET Phy's and MAC's. All of them had SDRAM, SRAM, FLASH, and a raft of I/O channels. Those prices were from 4 years ago, and I suspect they've dropped by at least 30%, and maybe more.
