Over the past couple of years, it's seemed that every semiconductor manufacturer and his bionic dog has been jumping on the ARM bandwagon and churning out ARM-based microcontrollers.

It seemed that there'd soon be as many ARM-based microcontroller vendors as there are 8051-based...!!

But is the tide now turning:
NXP acquires BlueStreak microcontroller product line from Sharp
