#140527 - For two parts on two prototypes??
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Joseph:

For just two parts on a proto board that will at MAX be built in two copies I think will rather not get all tooled up for home lab reflow. I'd rather just find a way to just simply plunk these parts down and move on. Mr Erlacher's idea of using a couple of 30 ga bare wire to stubs to raise the part up and my specialty extended pads idea and I think I may have a simple solution.

These extended pads will also make a great place to probe with the o-scope while I debug the firmware interface to these sensors. The customer that this design is going too has all kinds of capability to build and reflow boards in house so they can make their production boards using a conventional LGA pad configuration.

Often my firmware development protos look nothing like production type hardware. I often use 0805 resistors, 1206 capacitors and SOIC logic chips when most of the production stuff these days has to be small and is using 0402 discrete stuff with TSSOPs and DFNs.
