#133139 - the way to do it ... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
(1) find the slowest conceivable PC, with the minimum of HD capacity, and the minimum of semidonductor memory on which the target software is supposed to run, e.g. 16 MHz 386sx with 32 MB of RAM. That's the development platform.
(2) put the development team in a lead-lined room with those platforms, no ipods, no telephones of any kind, a limited supply of coffee, one water cooler, filled, of course, then weld the doors shut. No food or bathroom breaks until the product is completely documented, developed and debugged, and thoroughly verified to adhere to the design specification. (3) if the team fails to deliver a totally bug-free product on schedule, evacuate the room of air. After another 5 days, fill the room with concrete. Maybe that will get the team to stop playing and focus on the task at hand. RE |
