I think I've only used one Java application on an ongoing basis. The interface is a little clunky and apparently doesn't use OS-based common dialogs, so it just feels out of place. And after I've run it for more than about 30 minutes I usually have to reboot the machine to recover the speed of my machine. Shutting the program down isn't enough--the machine still remains slow even after the Java program is done executing.

I'd write that off as a Windows OS problem but I had the exact same problem with the exact same application on Linux. But it was nice to run the same slow application on either OS. :)
