#133093 - NetBeans
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Russell Bull said:

For those who have tried NetBeans on a P3 class machine with 256mb ram would agree Java does have some performance issues.

Looking to a developer application tool like NetBeans for general performance hints is a flawed metric. It's a kitchen sink application. I think it even installs a full App server.

Something like jEdit would prove better. Though even it has a lot of eye candy to push around.

Like most things in engineering, there's no free lunch. One type of 'magic' does not solve all problems.

Agreed.

Bring back UCSD(Scud)P-system!

Java has a much richer API. How many default classes are there now? Also... P-System never had JIT.
