There are a few more other options around for similar pseudoICEs and quasiICEs, more and less expensive, more and less usable. AFAIK, no comprehensive overview of them (yet - any volunteers?).

The reference code might be good to be RUN on the devboard, rather than READ.

PS. If you really mean to go the hard, but possibly fruitful way a couple of us went, get the reference code, but don't attempt to READ it, rather, try to EXECUTE it by hand!
