[My decision to leave the Republican party was not a knee-jerk reaction to ABC's report. I've been giving it serious consideration for some time, as has my wife. Since I'd pretty much made up my mind prior to reading the report, then in this case the context didn't matter much to me. I understand. That said, leaving the party doesn't much matter. It's who you actually vote for in the election that matters. The boogie man BS didn't work for McCarthy (Communists) and it doesn't work for King George (terrorists). I think his agenda is clear--he wants to be the first Dictator of America, and I will not tolerate it. I don't agree with everything Bush says, but I vehemently disagree that Bush is trying to become a dictator. That, and accusations that mention "Nazi", are the exact same kind of scare tactics that certain people accuse the president himself of. Just as you find Bush's terrorist boogie-man to be unbelievable, I put about the same stock in accusations of dictator/fascism/Nazi. It'll all be over in 2 years. Don't stress too much. I remember people freaking out over Clinton, too, but he faded away into history. Bush will eventually do the same. Regards, Craig Steiner |
