Jeff,
Example of how context is everything. GBjr was trying his best to say that he reserved the right to inform those who disagree with the Chaney/Rove administration's policy of remaining in IRAQ (or EYERACK as he pronounces it) as to what his handlers inform him the consequences of pulling out would be. Of course this stretches the truth as his organization has explicitely challenged the patriotism of those who disagree with him "Swift Boat Veterans against Truth" being a good example. regards, p Maybe I read the report too quickly, but I don't recall that it put his remark in that context. On the other hand, as you point out re Swift Boat Veterans, King George has made it abundantly clear how he views anyone who disagrees with him. Colin Powell disagreed with him, and he's no longer part of the group of thugs currently in control. (To Powell's credit, I believe the split was mutual.) In any case, the context isn't all that important to me. His remark is just part of a long string of actions he's taken that show just what he really is. For me, it's the last straw--as of last night I have resigned from the Republican party. I can no longer tolerate the fascist regime they've become. I did not join the opposition party, and if the RNC ever gets rid of the fascists and returns to its roots, then I'll rejoin the party. Until then, they can kiss my bloody arse! |
