'could not load 8051 microcode An error occured while attempting to upload the microcode to the onboard 8051 microcontroller' My Intel AnyPoint USB ADSL "modem" has an EZ-USB in it. I think the purpose of the EZ-USB is simply to download the software for the ADSL "engine" (something DSP or ARM based?) via USB from the PC into the unit's RAM. I think quite a lot of USB PC peripherals work this way these days; there is effectively no software/firmware permanently stored in the unit - it's all just loaded via USB each time the system starts. |
