#120492 - Technology is not the place for cheap books Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Unfortunately, by the time most books are published, the content, at least as far as electronic technology is concerned, is obsolete.
Books on theory, or on underlying math, age well, but books with simple solutions don't. I routinely refer to math references used in graduate school back in the early '60's, but I'd not expect much useful information about MOSFET's from that era. An unfortunate result of this is that books that DO contain useful "tips and tricks" are very recent and seldom available at low cost. Considering how quickly they become valueless, that's a very sad thing. Such books, once aged, can still be of considerable value, aside from the "tips and tricks," if one understands the underlying theory, however. Most students don't dig deeply enough to appreciate that, but it's quite true. RE |
