I'm not convinced there's any benefit in attempting to obfuscate an algorithm, however secret, within a set of code that will, ultimately, have to be used by someone else. I've found that _I_ am usually the one who has to maintain my code, and I know I can't remember what the hell I was trying to do yesterday, much less in six months or a year.
