#117172 - stupid me Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Me certainly stupid, no doubt... This is the second time in this week I don't understand the joke everything laughs at.
Can somebody please explain me, what is the point? Thanks. Jan Waclawek [Added later:] Oh yes, now I see. My question relates to the following: do you consider C to be HLL or just a tool to program? In the former case, there is no point ridicule statements as those - HLLs are intended to enable programming in a way as close to normal human thinking as possible, in an almost normal language. So if the programmer thinks about the problem as e.g. "if Ralf is not at the endpoint (=47) make it to be so", he simply writes it down in the syntax required by the language. The programmer is not only not required to optimize, he should not to do so - it's the task of the compiler and stuff. On the other hand, if one uses it as a simple tool, it is the same as in assembler - it is normally unreadable anyway, so one almost unconsciously optimizes himself. C is exactly the language I'd never consider a HLL but it is often used as such... but not in microcontrollers, apparently... Jan Waclawek |
