I use the ASEM-51 because (a) it came with MIDE51, where I discovered it has really decent doc's, and (b) it has linker and macro support, including some handy features that you can either use or ignore.
The result is that, over time, one can increase the size of an included file with a number of macros, and it will pick the ones you need and skip the rest when linking your executable. I like ASEM-51, and that's why I use it. It's a personal choice, and not everyone will agree with me, particularly HLL users who are inclined to use the assembler that comes packaged with their compiler. It's not a value judgment, it's just my personal preference. I do appreciate the fairly extensive documentation, especially with respect to the instruction set. RE |
