I don't know what is Your setup,
but Analog device starter kit for Aduc842 is very cheap. It contains Keil and IAR packages. I use IAR starter for MSP430. Assembler is unlimited and debugger is working good enough(for free).
If situation is same with Aduc's 51 - i recommend it warmly.
I suppose Keil suite is same quality.
So keep using Your default assembler is mistake.
